ALUSTAR Ferry's
|
This Passenger Ferry offers many features unique to the River. Its
construction is entirely of marine grade aluminium and is powered by a 2KW Electric Drive from a
bank of batteries generating approx 4 knots.
She has capacity for up to 12 passengers plus their bicycles and/or
prams.
Her construction uses the now familiar feature of the ALUSTAR range -
namely a collar of approx 400mm diameter divided into 8 separate compartments giving the craft
considerable rigidity and strength, at the same time providing plenty of stability and built-in
safety.
|
Whilst the boat has an unusual pram type bow, it could easily be configured
with a Bow-Loading-Ramp for wheel chair access with the batteries hidden under the side seats.
Other alternatives are equally possible such as a structure to carry a Canopy and different
drives like an inboard diesel or outboard as circumstances demand.
The ferry is an extension of the ALUSTAR range of Rigid-Buoyancy-Boat craft
designed by John Armstrong for many sorts of duties be they fast response recreation with
aesthetic appeal, functional commercial offshore or practical ideas for inland
waters.
